After multiple rained out games, the Scots were finally able to get on the diamond at Heppner but ended up losing 4-14 in their first league action of the season. After a long layoff, rust showed on the defensive side of the ball with 7 errors in 4 innings. This dug an early hole that the Scots couldn't get out of. In the 5th, with our backs against the wall, we battled at the plate and plated 4 runs on a key, 2 out at bat by Calvin Thacker to keep the inning alive, hits by Dallas Reich, 2 doubles by Elliot Salter and Aaron Speed. Overall, pitchers made Heppner put the ball in play but our defense (as a team) didnt make the plays that needed to be made. We play a home JV game this thursday against Pilot Rock.
