Grades
Pitching: A
Hitting: B- (Stay back!!! Couple "hits" on balls that should be caught...as a team we need to have a better approach at the plate and learn to have the pitch come to us and be patient. We are in control, not the pitcher)
Defense: B- Some sloppy play.

The TigerScots once again came from behind to win a 8-7 victory against Desales JV. Gabe Quaempts started on the hill for the young TScots and threw the ball well, giving up 2 runs in 5 innings of work and 6 strikeouts. The Scots got on the board first with 2 runs in the second inning, on a ground out by Collin Snider and a double by Miles Thul. The Scots would hold a 3-2 lead going into the 5th but Desales would battle back with 4 in the sixth and 1 more in the 7th making the score 7-4. The first game of the double header was a classic pitchers dual between Brian Duke and Pilot Rock's Travis Copeland with PR pulling out the 1-0 victory on an unearned run. As low as the score was, defensively we were not sharp as we had 5 errors. Brian Duke battled in and out of trouble and the defense made the plays when needed (except for a 2nd inning lapse) Shane Bond got the lone hit for the TigerScots with a 5th inning double. The wind was absolutely horrible in the first game and both teams had trouble hitting. The JV Boys hit the ball well against the Pilot Rock JV in a 13-6 victory at Pilot Rock. Miles Thul (3 RBI), Matt McGill, and Nick Lively (3 RBI) had 2 hits, Aaron Speed, Thomas Moore, Ron Terjeson, Tyler Holland, Jared Bond, Deric Carson, and Collin Snider. Defense, Defense, Defense. Both Irrigon and WMHS had troubles in the field today but not many errors to show for it in a 11-9 TigerScot victory. The TigerScots youngsters jumped out to an early 9-1 lead and with stood a furious late Pendleton rally to win 9-8. Dallas Reich hit a 3 run home run and added another double to lead the TigerScot charge. Elliot Salter added 2 "triples" (a little help but hit the balls hard!) and was a menace at the top of the lineup. Jared Bond added 2 hits as well. Starter Ron Terjeson threw a solid 4 innings and Gabe Quaempts came on to close the door on the Buckaroo rally. One word comes to mind about this past Saturday's road losses to Heppner: frustrating. 14 errors on the day sealed the TigerScots fate against a good Heppner squad with the scores 9-2 and 15-9. The TigerScots JV beat Prescott JV 11-6 on thursday. It was a sloppy game on both sides. The young TigerScots only had 5 hits (11 runs) helped by 11 Prescott errors. However, numerous played hit the ball hard. Nick Lively had a hit and also another hard hit the was caught. Ron Terjeson had a double. Tyler Holland had a single but also had a hard hit (an error) that he crushed. Mac Sohappy also had a double. Deric Carson laid down a great sacrifice but that turned into a hit (and error). And Thomas Moore got a hit (even if it was out of order). Deric Carson threw on the hill for the TigerScots and Nick Lively came in to close the door on the Prescott team. The TigerScots defeated the 7th ranked Stanfield Tigers in a thrilling 5-4 walk off victory at the TigerScot diamond. With runners at 1st and 2nd, tie game, 1 out, and two strikes, Shortstop Ryan Webb stroked a single (double if run didnt score) down the left field scoring Elliot Salter for the winning run. The TigerScot JV fell to the Desales Irish 3-2. Matt McGill started on the hill for the TigerScots and threw the ball well. The TigerScot defense had a hiccup in the 3rd innning and allowed 2 runs to score. A third run was added later. Down 3-0 going into the 6th, the TigerScots scored 2 runs on a couple hits and some Irish pitcher walks. Nick Lively had 2 hits for the TigerScots, but throughout the day, the bats were silent except for the 6th. Desales fielded the ball well, but we also did not put |
