Defense, Defense, Defense. Both Irrigon and WMHS had troubles in the field today but not many errors to show for it in a 11-9 TigerScot victory.
The bats didnt come alive for the TigerScots until the 6th inning on Irrigon hurler Jesus Munoz. Behind 5-2, the Scots' scored 4 runs with an RBI single by Elliot Salter and 2 Run single by Dallas Reich to go up 6-5. However, the TigerScots surrendered the lead again on sloppy defensive play. The TigerScots refused to go quietly though. Down 9-6 in the 7th, the TigerScots, with help from some errors and walks, would score 5 runs to go up 11-9, capped by a 2 run single by Ryan Webb. From there Dallas Reich closed the door on an Irrigon rally.

The TigerScots youngsters jumped out to an early 9-1 lead and with stood a furious late Pendleton rally to win 9-8. Dallas Reich hit a 3 run home run and added another double to lead the TigerScot charge. Elliot Salter added 2 "triples" (a little help but hit the balls hard!) and was a menace at the top of the lineup. Jared Bond added 2 hits as well. Starter Ron Terjeson threw a solid 4 innings and Gabe Quaempts came on to close the door on the Buckaroo rally. One word comes to mind about this past Saturday's road losses to Heppner: frustrating. 14 errors on the day sealed the TigerScots fate against a good Heppner squad with the scores 9-2 and 15-9. The TigerScots JV beat Prescott JV 11-6 on thursday. It was a sloppy game on both sides. The young TigerScots only had 5 hits (11 runs) helped by 11 Prescott errors. However, numerous played hit the ball hard. Nick Lively had a hit and also another hard hit the was caught. Ron Terjeson had a double. Tyler Holland had a single but also had a hard hit (an error) that he crushed. Mac Sohappy also had a double. Deric Carson laid down a great sacrifice but that turned into a hit (and error). And Thomas Moore got a hit (even if it was out of order). Deric Carson threw on the hill for the TigerScots and Nick Lively came in to close the door on the Prescott team. The TigerScots defeated the 7th ranked Stanfield Tigers in a thrilling 5-4 walk off victory at the TigerScot diamond. With runners at 1st and 2nd, tie game, 1 out, and two strikes, Shortstop Ryan Webb stroked a single (double if run didnt score) down the left field scoring Elliot Salter for the winning run. The TigerScot JV fell to the Desales Irish 3-2. Matt McGill started on the hill for the TigerScots and threw the ball well. The TigerScot defense had a hiccup in the 3rd innning and allowed 2 runs to score. A third run was added later. Down 3-0 going into the 6th, the TigerScots scored 2 runs on a couple hits and some Irish pitcher walks. Nick Lively had 2 hits for the TigerScots, but throughout the day, the bats were silent except for the 6th. Desales fielded the ball well, but we also did not put The TigerScots swept the Riverside Pirates in double header action at the TigerScot diamond 14-0 and 3-1. Ryan Webb started on the hill and threw 3 shutout innings followed by Dallas Reich with 2 scoreless innings. Victory! 10-4. Gabe Quaempts and Nick Lively pitched for the TigerScots and threw the ball well. Hitting wise, Quaempts, Miles Thul, Jared Bond, Ron Terjeson, and Gary Kobasa all had hits for the young TigerScots. Nick Lively had 2 hits on the day. Grades Pitching: B-, couple walks and hit batters Offense: C, still not happy with pitch selection and approaches at the plate, however, several players are doing a great job of battleing and w TigerScots opened league play with a 9-8 see-saw loss at Pilot Rock. TigerScots got on the board first with 2 runs in the top of the first with a single by Brian Duke and a passed ball. The Rockets eventually went up 5-3 but we continued to battle and chip away at the lead (helped out by some wildness on the part of Rocket pitching). Going into the sixth, with the TigerScots down 7-4, the young TigerScots scored 4 runs, helped by 5 Rocket walks and an 2 RBI double by Ryan Webb. However, we couldnt hold on to the 8-7 lead as the Rockets showed why they are one of the teams to beat in league, with good coaching by Kevin Nice, by scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth and shutting the door on a TigerScot comeback in the 7th with a couple great plays by the Rocket shortstop Tanner Mitchell. TigerScots ride 5 game winning streak heading into league with double header sweep of Prescott4/4/2009 The TigerScots swept the Prescott Tigers with a 14-1 and 7-5 wins. All day the TigerScots put pressure on the Prescott Tigers. In game 1, Ryan Webb threw well to earn the victory. Casey Riddle came in to finish them off with a quick 5th inning. Hitting wise, Ryan Webb got the Tigerscots on the the board with a 1st inning 2 run home run. He later added an RBI double to end the game 2-2 with 3 RBI (HR, Dbl). Aaron Speed, Shane Bond, and Webb each had two hits and 3 RBI. Everyone in the lineup scored at least 1 run. |
